Commitment to Water Stewardship

- Adopting the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) standard at our facilities and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve its objectives.
- Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and other requirements related to water management.
- Incorporating water management considerations into our company’s strategic planning and operations.
- Providing access to safe, wholesome water and applying sustainable practices across all operations.
- Preventing, minimizing and controlling water-related pollution.
- Ensuring adequate Water, Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH) facilities are available and maintained in the workplace.
- Establishing transparent corporate water governance with clear responsibilities and accountabilities.
- Engaging proactively and inclusively with stakeholders affected by our water use and discharges.
- Effectively managing water resources on-site to minimize social and environmental impacts.
- Investing inefficient water utilization solutions and setting relevant performance targets.
- Ensuring a sustainable supply of water for operations without compromising the needs of catchment users or
the environment. - Regularly updating assessments of water security risks, including those related to climate change.
- Implementing training and awareness programmes for employees and stakeholders on water stewardship.

Water Stewardship Objectives
- Setting annual water usage targets to achieve optimal processing efficiency, measured as tones of green tobacco processed per cubic meter of water.
- Monitoring, measuring and analyzing water quality against defined compliance limits.
- Assessing water use and associated risks to ensure that our operations do not adversely affect the quality or quantity of water resources.
- Identifying, implementing and sharing best practices for water stewardship to protect significant water-related areas.
- Continually implementing actions to meet the AWS standard and other relevant regulations.
